What is an Overland Expedition?

An overland expedition is a journey along a suggested route aimed at a more adventurous and budget conscious traveler. It is off the beaten track, and many of the areas visited do not have the facilities, which a ‘package tourist’ may require. The route taken may also vary from time to time due to various factors - such as road and weather conditions.

Who is suited to take an Overland Expedition?

Our groups number up to about twelve people from all walks of life and from various nationalities. Most of the people are from Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America. Although there are often couples and groups of friends who have booked together, most are single and the male-female balance is generally about even.

As all of our expeditions are participation trips, it is important that you have a positive attitude and are prepared to put in a fair share towards the various days’ activities. Joining in is what turns a great trip into an unforgettable experience. You will be expected to pitch your tent at our overnight camps, help with meal preparation and shopping at the local markets, etc. With the right attitude we can guarantee that you will get the most out of the overland experience.
